October at a Glance

It’s almost Halloween, which means October is coming to an end. It’s time for our monthly wrap up.

What happened this month?

Marketing Week: We finished off the tail end of Marketing Week in the first few days of October. Check out our Marketing Week recap to get the lowdown on what happened.

  •

CIBC Run for the Cure: On October 4th, we took part in the annual CIBC Run for the Cure. The BCITMA raised over $2000 for the Candian Cancer society and received a reward for most money raised by a post-secondary institution. We couldn’t have made this a success without all the hard work put in by our VP of Community Relations, Ella Lindau.

Chapter Plan: On October 9th, we had an exciting moment for our Vice President, Raelyn Pearson, as her countless hours working on the Chapter Plan came to an end. The Chapter plan sets out our goals, objectives, and activities for our entire school year. Next on her plate is the Annual Report!

Katie Klumper: The Path to Success: On October 21, we welcomed Katie Klumper the current principal of Deloitte creative agency, HEAT and a former BCIT Marketing Management grad. Katie shared her insight on how to make it from BCIT to the Big Apple, how to obtain a work-life balance, and key values every business person should have. Her insight was impeccable and inspiring. We are so grateful to have had this experience.

Costumes and Cocktails: On October 25, the BCITMA hosted our annual Halloween event, Costumes and Cocktails at Portside Pub. The turnout was more than we could have imagined, selling just over 100 tickets. The night was full of fun, socializing and an excellent way to wrap up midterms.

October was a complete success, from fun to fundraising, we couldn’t have asked for more! Check out our events page to find out what we have in store for November!
