Celebrate your achievements

A tip to better your productivity!

How are you going to stay proactive this term?

As we enter the second month of the winter term, keeping the motivation up to work and study is something we all want to achieve. From juggling multiple classes, to activities, and work outside of school, having effective techniques to help you stay productive and on top of things is something every student should learn! Everyone at some point will struggle with productivity, and that’s why sharing this next helpful tip will help you complete all your tasks over these next few months.

Review your week every Friday

After a long stressful week of classes, it can be hard to keep up with what you have accomplished throughout the week. We have a hard time processing what we have even done that day because we are so focused on what’s coming next. Scott Farquhar, Co-CEO at Atlassian, has come up with 3 questions to ask yourself every Friday of the week:

  1. Did I achieve what I wanted to achieve?

  2. Did I personally need to be there for everything I attended?

  3. Could I have achieved the same in a shorter time frame?

These questions give you a perspective on how you are spending and managing your time and will help you determine whether you should work on your time management for the following school week.

With this tip in mind, give it a try for your next following months at BCIT. Even if you should just attempt it once, it’s guaranteed that it will benefit you in some way! Remember to study hard, but also to give yourself a well-rested break!
