A Club’s Perspective

Emily Benson, the president of the BCITMA collaborated with the BCIT Link Magazine to focus on a new community program called Clubs for Community. Emily mentioned in the article that “creating a sense of community during a time like this should feel like a club leader’s duty because we are so far apart from each other.”

This year, the BCIT Marketing Association will be heavily involved with all initiatives creating a sense of community and belonging within the club, all while being virtual. All the events can be catered to the level of comfort of participants. If they want to participate from a distance or virtually this can be accommodated for; as well if students are willing to meet in person, proper regulations will be in place to ensure everybody stays safe. There are a multitude of events that club members can participate in from writing letters to frontline workers or doing a beach cleanup at local beaches. “Clubs for Community provides a fantastic opportunity for clubs and I strongly encourage you to participate”, says Emily.

We will be proudly involved in these events. If you want to connect, create, and collaborate with the largest club at BCIT, send an email to Emily Benson at president@bcitma.ca.
